Congressional Democrats are finally being forced to cave on the USMCA as a result of the embarrassment of the impeachment inquiry. That was my reaction LIVE on the radio on Tuesday morning, after the news was announced that House Democrats had finally reached an agreement on the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade.

"Impeachment Embarrassment Forces Deal on USMCA"

I actually wrote that headline earlier Tuesday morning, but wanted to wait to post this article on our website until I could share some of our audio.

Here was my immediate reaction to the news after it broke Tuesday morning:

President Trump struck a similar tone with his response later Tuesday. As Fox News First reports:

"Congress will soon vote on my new trade deal," Trump announced at the rally, noting that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., "did it on the same day they announced they are going to impeach the 45th president of the United States, and your favorite president. And, the reason they announced it on the same day, one hour later, they announced impeachment ... you know why? It plays down the impeachment, because they're embarrassed by impeachment, and our poll numbers have gone through the roof because of her stupid impeachment."

Last month, The New York Times quoted me on the USMCA and impeachment. I think the pressure from farm and ranch groups, moderates, and Independents finally forced the Dems to cave.

As Politico's Playbook noted on Tuesday morning, the Left was already doing some "hand-wringing: over the expected deal. Here's one of the quotes from Chris Hayes with MSNBC:

CHRIS HAYES put it this way: "Nothing more perfectly embodies the Democratic party than announcing articles of impeachment and a huge deal with the President on his single biggest priority on the same day."

Montana Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) on Tuesday morning said, "it's about time:"

Montanans have been eagerly waiting for this important trade deal for Montana ag to move forward. That’s why I’ve made it my top priority to urge Speaker Pelosi to come to the table and get this done for our farmers and ranchers. I am proud to stand with President Trump as we work to get this deal across the finish line. The USMCA is a win-win for Montana and America, and will help our farmers and ranchers have certainty and access to important markets.
