Grizzly bears are no longer on the United States protections list so hunters can hunt them.... Right?
Well, not everyone is sure that the grizzly can be hunted. The National Rifle Association wants to make sure their members can hunt grizzly bears. Idaho, Montana and Wyoming are thinking about allowing limited trophy hunts in Yellowstone National Park region.
They are asking a judge to clarify, now that the bear is not an endangered spices, if they can legally be killed. At the same time Conservation groups are suing to put back the protections about killing grizzly bears.. The NRA and Safari Club International want to intervene in the case.
So hunters, environmentalists and others are trying to figure out if the hunt is on or off.
