If you live in Bozeman and are a renter, you're very aware that we have some of the highest rent prices in the northwest. When I tell my out-of-state friends how much I pay for my 2 bed 1 bath apartment, they always have a look of total shock, although to be fair, that price does include internet.

It seems in some complexes that prices have steadied a little, but for most of us, we're still paying way too much for rent, so when a great deal on an apartment or house pops up, it doesn't last long.

Of course, we're all familiar with the phrase if it's too good to be true, it probably is.  So someone decided to poke a little fun at the rental situation here in town on the Bozeman Craiglist site.

The classified states that they have a one-bedroom available for 1450.  Now when it comes to rental prices, that seems like a decent deal for a one-bedroom apartment, except it's not an actual apartment or a place that's habitable, the headline states:

$1,450 / 1br - 1 bedroom, outside bathroom (Where K-mart used to be)

Clearly, the person that posted this is making fun of the situation here in Bozeman, as pop-up neighborhoods with campers and RVs are scattered throughout the city. However, they were certainly creative in their description of the made-up property.

Some of the highlights include:

• Pee outside under the Northern Lights
• Get to the last best place before everyone else
• Air b n b potential
• Upload your podcast or Instagram your day’s adventures

If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at, right?  I mean, the truth is, there's a lot of truth in this little parody.

Bozeman has problems when it comes to housing and while there are new apartment complexes and homes being built, most Bozemanites can't afford the price tag on a whole lot of those new structures, or the old ones for that matter.
