Growing up, no one had a bigger impact on my life than Vera the Bus Driver. I'll be honest, I haven't seen Vera since I was in High School and I'm guessing she has gone on to that big Bus Barn in the sky, however, she was a pivotal person in my life.

Vera had a bus with a radio. Now, back then that was a big deal, as not every school bus had that. Every morning on the way to school, we would listen to one of the local radio station's morning shows and I knew at an early age, that was exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up.

For the record, I'm talking about being on the radio, not a school bus driver.

Tomorrow is "School Bus Driver's Day", and I can't think of too many jobs that require more patience, or focus. I mean, think about it, what cargo is more precious than our kids? None that I can think of. Being a school bus driver is a serious job and comes with some serious responsibility.

Having said all that, we all know that not all of those "sweet little angels" are always sweet.  If any of those kids are anything like me and my buddies back in the day, then you probably ought to get your child's school bus driver a nice gift card to a coffee shop, or depending on how bad your kid is, possibly a liquor store.

In all seriousness, a little gift would be greatly appreciated, I'm sure.  Plus, it might help your kid out, especially if they're one of the naughty ones.
