On Monday, a Roxbury, MA firefighter took heroism to new heights by catching a terrified boy dropped from a window in a burning apartment building, according to ‘Today.’

As firefighters responded to a six-alarm blaze, Lieutenant Glenn McGillivray witnessed six-year-old Xavier Lamb being held from a third-story window by his desperate grandmother. Fortunately, McGillivray was there to catch the child in his arms. Hey, who needs a net?

The blaze, which officials believe was the result of a failed suicide attempt, injured a dozen people and left 75 residents homeless. Watch the courageous story below.
