Hot temperatures continue today across southwest Montana, producing a Red Flag Warning for fire danger across the entire area through tonight. Details here:
Red flag warning in effect from noon today to 9 PM MDT this
evening for low relative humidity... gusty winds and a chance of
thunderstorms for fire zones 117 and 118...
The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a red flag
warning for fire zones 117 and 118... which is in effect from
noon today to 9 PM MDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no
longer in effect.
* Winds... southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* Relative humidity... as low as 15 percent.
* Lightning... isolated dry thunderstorms with gusty and erratic
winds up to 45 mph are possible this afternoon and evening.
* Impacts... the combination of very warm temperatures... low
relative humidity... gusty winds... and a chance of
thunderstorms will create critical fire weather conditions and
rapid fire growth for new and existing fires.
