U.S. Senator Steve Daines was recognized recently as the most transparent, accountable and innovative representative in Washington by the Congressional Management Foundation.

Bradford Fitch, President and CEO, Congressional Management Foundation added this comment in a press release:

"As a Democracy Award winner, Senator Daines' office is one of the best in Congress. This designation demonstrates that Senator Daines has made a significant commitment to being the best public servant for his constituents in Montana. He and his staff are to be congratulated for not only being a model for colleagues in Congress, but for helping to restore trust and faith that our democratic institutions can work."

Accepting the award, Daines thought back to his days in the tech industry in Montana.

"It has always been my priority to bring transparency, accountability and innovation to Washington D.C. to better serve the people of Montana," Daines said. "Before I came to Congress, I built a successful business and had tremendous achievements in the private sector. What I learned in business, I took with me to Congress."

The press release also stated:

"The CMF’s Transparency, Accountability and Innovation award recognizes offices that employ unique or innovative methods to continuously enhance their constituent interactions, and provide clear and relevant information on their work and performance, and publicly acknowledge metrics for that performance."
