Costco and Target Raising Minimum Wage to $15 an Hour
According to Fortune.com, Costco are Target are both raising the hourly minimum wage to $15 an hour for employees. Both companies have locations in Bozeman.
Many companies have raised the minimum hourly wage in the past year. Walmart employees recently saw an increase to $11 an hour in January. At Target, the current minimum wage is $12 an hour but the company plans to increase pay to $15 an hour beginning in 2020.
Costco, Target and Walmart raising the minimum wage means other local businesses may have to do the same tin order to attract employees. With cost of living becoming an issue for many Gallatin Valley residents, these moves may signal the start of rising local wages.
The wage increase has already taken place at Costco stores across the U.S.
