Superintendent of Missoula County Public Schools Mark Thane announced on Friday that Libby Oliver, the Hellgate assistant principal responsible for a major data breach, has officially submitted her resignation.

On December 4, following a meeting with parents of Hellgate football players, Oliver merged several documents and mistakenly sent them out to several email addresses. Some of those files contained highly personal information regarding students. After a thorough forensic examination, it was determined that Oliver was responsible for a failure to follow best practices in working with computer files.

In the news release, Thane said no interviews regarding this situation would be granted to the media, being a personnel issue.
