Are Middle Of The Road Montanans Prepared For The “End Times”?
For those of us that don't watch the news, apparently, we are on the brink of World War 3 or the end of times, or...well, it's hard to keep up. It seems each day there is something new that we need to be aware of, from spy balloons over Montana to whatever virus is going to kill us next.
I'm not sure where you lean politically, and honestly, I don't care.
Here in Montana, we have all kinds of people with all kinds of views. We have those that are stockpiling food and ammo and are just waiting for the green light to go all "Red Dawn". We have those that believe that there is no need to worry because our government will take care of us, no matter what happens.
Then there are those of us that are in the middle. Those of that really don't trust either side and are kind of on our own island. Here's the good news, we're not alone. So what are our options? If tough times are indeed in our future, what do we need to do?
To quote that old Boy Scout motto, be prepared. Now, I'm not suggesting that we're getting ready to enter the end times, but what I am saying is it isn't a bad idea to make sure you have some things you might need in case of some sort of disaster.
The flood of '22 showed us what can happen when we're cut off from supply lines. Many Montanans were struggling to get the supplies that they needed, especially things like bottled water and non-perishable food items.
Here's a list of things that everyone should have or have access to in the case of some sort of disaster.
- Water (One Gallon Per Person, Per Day)
- Non-Perishable Food Items
- Extra Clothes, Blankets, and Winter Gear
- Extra Batteries
- Access to a Generator
- Radio
- Flashlight/Lanterns
- First Aid Kit/Medical Supplies
- Duct Tape/Trash Bags/Plastic Sheeting
- Tools
- Maps
- Compass
- Knife
- Access to Firearms
- Extra Cell Phone Batteries
While there are several other things that could be added to the list, it's a good idea to have the above supplies ready in case the need arises to use them. Hopefully, you won't, but once again, being prepared is key when it comes to a disaster, whether it is natural or man-made.
