Helena is also expected to have periods of nasty weather overnight tonight with a Winter Weather Advisory in effect through Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service:

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM MST MONDAY.

  • LOCATIONS - BOULDER... BOULDER HILL... ELK PARK PASS... HOMESTAKE PASS... WHITEHALL... TOWNSEND... FLESHER PASS... HELENA... LINCOLN... MACDONALD PASS... ROGERS PASS.
  • SNOW ACCUMULATIONS - 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW IN THE VALLEYS AND 3 TO 6 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS.
  • TIMING - SNOW IS UNDERWAY AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS. SNOW WILL GRADUALLY REACH THE VALLEY FLOORS BY TONIGHT.
  • IMPACTS - SNOW WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS AT TIMES THROUGH MONDAY ESPECIALLY OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES WHERE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IS POSSIBLE.
  • THOSE WITH BACKCOUNTRY INTERESTS SHOULD ALSO PREPARE FOR WINTER CONDITIONS.
  • WINDS - WEST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.
  • A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MEANS THAT VISIBILITIES WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO A COMBINATION OF FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW. USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING ESPECIALLY IN OPEN AREAS.
