Woman Charged with Stealing from Housing Authority

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A 46-year-old Helena woman faces federal charges after investigators say she stole rent checks when she worked for the Anaconda Housing Authority. The Associated Press reports former Anaconda resident Coleen Furthmyre is charged with taking in rental payments between January 2009 and November 2011, and depositing more than $28,000 in her own bank account

Marijuana Provider Reaches Post-Conviction Plea Deal

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A medical marijuana provider facing more than 80 years in prison and the forfeiture of $1.7 million has reached a post-conviction plea agreement that dismisses six of eight drug-related convictions as long as Chris Williams agrees not to appeal.

The agreement was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Helena.

One Dead In Shooting In Helena

A shooting that occurred at 11:36pm on Sunday evening resulted in one person dead. The incident involved a Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's deputy. The scene of the shooting is being investigated by the Montana Department of Criminal Investigations and Sheriff Leo Dutton will hold a press conference today concerning the matter.

Sheriff’s Badge And Gun Stolen In Helena

A very gutsy robber broke into a Helena home and stole a sheriff's badge and .40-caliber pistol. The robber knew exactly what he was after as there was a patrol car parked outside the house when he robbed the home. If you are questionable about any civilian clothed person wearing a badge, ask for identification and travel to a public location if being pulled over.
