President Obama Announces US Troops Will Be Out of Iraq by Year’s End [VIDEO]
In a White House briefing held Friday, President Obama announced the remaining American troops in Iraq will be home by the end of the year, closing a war effort there that has killed more than 4,400 US servicepeople and wounded 32,000 more since 2003.
“After nine years, America’s war in Iraq will be over,” the president said.

Bombers Kill Iraqi Lieutenant
Suicide bombers attacked the 1st Battalion of the National Police in what appeared to be a mission to assassinate Lt. Col. Shamil al-Jabouri. Al-Jabouri has been a prominent force in fighting the al queda presence in Iraq. While it is still unsure if al Queda was behind the attack, the loss of the lieutenant is going to be a great one for the Iraqi forces fighting terrorism. More inside.
