If you have the money to buy one of the most iconic mansions in Montana, wouldn't you want to buy it?

Montana has some incredible historic mansions that were built during the mining booms. During the gold and copper boom in Montana, there were more millionaires in Montana than anywhere else in the world. The money these guys made in the late 1800s to early 1900s was insane.

The house was built over three years by Samuel T. Hauser in the mid-1880s. Samuel Hauser was a massive contributor to the development of Montana with mining and railroads. After he passed away, the house was sold to Catholic Church in Helena and then sold to Governor Babcock, who restored the house.

The house is massive with four stories and 29 rooms but one of the craziest facts about this house is when Governor Babcock lived there, he had a direct line to the White House. Why? He was a close friend of Richard Nixon and enjoyed chatting with him.

One thing to know is the Hauser Mansion is also on the National Register of Historic Homes so if you plan on making any changes, you will have a long process to approval.

This mansion has a deep, rich history with Montana and has seen several owners over the past 130 years and hopefully whoever takes it over enjoys the building.
