As an expression of displeasure for President Obama 'executive overreach' regarding illegal immigrants; Congressional Republicans have threatened to defund, all or in part, the Department of Homeland Security. As reported earlier, Senator Jon Tester feels this tactic is a threat to national security. Today the senator's office released a Fact Sheet on the impact to Montana if Homeland Security should shut down.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill as currently drafted by the House (HR 240) threatens to shutdown DHS at 11:59 pm on Friday.
DHS employees in Montana will be furloughed and many would be forced to work without pay.
