A friendly reminder from Gallatin Valley Land Trust:

  • Avoid walking on muddy trails. Heavy tracks in the mud can cause serious permanent damage to the trail.
  • But if you do come across a muddy section, don’t walk around it, walk through it. Walking around the muddy trails  and widening the section can also seriously damage the trail.
  • Be especially careful when biking on possibly muddy trails.  Bikes, more than foot traffic, can really damage trails when they are muddy.
  • As the snow melts you’ll see more and more dog poop and litter that has accumulated from the winter. Please be kind and pick it up! We all need to be part of the solution, even if we aren’t part of the problem!
  • Don’t pick the flowers even though they’re pretty. We try to keep the land around the trail as pristine and untouched as possible.
