Yes, Congressman Greg Gianforte Should Be Treated Differently [OPINION]

The Associated Press reported today that Congressman Greg Gianforte has been ordered by a Gallatin County judge to take a mugshot and get fingerprinted.

Gianforte pleaded guilty to assaulting a reporter in May.

I really don't understand why our congressman has to do this. If he does anything wrong in the future, we all know what he looks like.

Some of my listeners complained that he should not be above the law. The congressman needs to be treated like everyone else. Do we live in the same country?

Some people are always treated differently, like rich people who can hire 15 lawyers and can afford bail. I am an adult, I have accepted that fact. The need for Congressman Gianforte to be fingerprinted and have his picture taken is for one thing - to embarrass him. It's politics.

Gianforte can appeal this order. If I were a billionaire, I would. We are not all treated equally under the law, time to face the music.
