Two students from the University of Montana School of Journalism have been chosen to provide news coverage of the Montana Legislature for newspapers and radio stations across the state.

Adjunct Professor Courtney Cowgill said the two are seniors Michael Wright and Madelyn Beck.

"Madelyn Beck will be covering the session for about 50 broadcasters around the state," Cowgill said. "That means filing two daily reports from the capitol, one that wraps up the events from that day and another that looks forward to the next day's session. Michael Wright will be covering the session for about 50 newspapers in the state. He will provide weekly features about what's going on in the capitol, as well as little briefs and snippets that newspapers can use throughout the session.

Cowgill said Wright and Beck have already been brushing up their reporting skills for the legislative session that begins in Helena on January 5.
