With the departure of Mike Reid to Sierra Nevada College, the University of Montana has named an interim Vice President for Administration and Finance.

President's Office spokesperson Paula Short said a familiar name has been chosen as Reid's temporary replacement.

"Folks familiar with the University of Montana over the last 30 years will recognize the familiar name of Rosie Keller," said Short. "She has been selected by the president to serve as the interim vice president for administration and finance, and Rosie will begin in that capacity on the first day of classes on August 31,"

Short said the VP for Administration and Finance is a position with many facets.

"The VP for Administration and Finance really affects most of the sectors at the University of Montana, and really handles most of the day to day running of the university, " she said. "It is everything from business services, to the University of Montana Police Department, to all of the fiscal operations and human resources, as well."

Short said this position, as well as the interim Provost position are being left open so that the new president, whomever he or she may be, can choose their own cabinet.
