The 2012 Oscars are just around the corner. It's our favorite time of year when the really hardcore movie fans throw parties and get aggravated when all their guests aren't paying close attention. Well, start getting pumped 'cause the Oscar nominations have been released. Check 'em out below.

There weren't a whole lot of surprises at the 83rd Academy Awards -- as expected, "The King's Speech" took the big prize as Best Picture. The film about King George VI overcoming his stutter also garnered a Best Actor statue for Colin Firth and a Best Director win for Tom Hooper. Like over-the-top outfits and gushing acceptance speeches, shocking nomination snubs are part of the tradition of the Oscars. This year, fans are crowing about the exclusions of Mark Whalbergh for "The Fighter" and "Ryan Gosling" for "Blue Valentine."
