Seattle ‘Superhero’ Phoenix Jones Arrested
For about a year, a man using the pseudonym Phoenix Jones has donned a costume and mask and prowled the streets of Seattle in an effort to thwart crime. But early Monday morning, it was the self-styled superhero who found himself behind bars.
Seattle police say Jones approached a group of people at about 2:30 a.m. and assaulted them with pepper spray. The individuals involved say they were “dancing and having a good time” after leaving a Seattle nightclub, but Jones maintains they were fighting and he was simply breaking it up.

When a Framingham, Massachusetts man was recently arrested for DUI and offered a phone call to arrange bail, he told police officers, “I think I’d like to call the White House.”
The man in question was 67-year-old Onyango Obama, who’s the half-brother of President Barack Obama’s late father.

A New York man now faces a whopping $50,000 bail after police said he tried to rob a convenience store of 99 cents.
Christopher Tisley, a 34-year-old Brooklyn resident, sauntered into the store at about 3 a.m. on Saturday with a gun and ordered the clerk to hand over the change, according to police.

Man Jailed For Mailing Tarantulas
Snail mail isn't for everyone. According to The Los Angeles Times, a German man has been sentenced to six months in prison after he pleaded guilty to shipping nearly 250 tarantulas by mail to the United States.
A federal prosecutor said 37-year-old Sven Koppler, who must also pay a $4,000 fine, is one of the "largest illegal importers of tarantulas."
