[UPDATE] Identity Released of Body Found in Madison County

[UPDATE 2:23PM January 22, 2013] According to Madison County Sheriff David Schenk, the body found in the Beehive Basin has been identified as 47 year old Chris Andrew Karantinos from  Jefferson, South Dakota.

[11:14AM January 21, 2013] BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) – Madison County authorities say snowshoers found a body in the Beehive Basin area.

Sheriff Dave Schenk says the body is that of a man who appears to have fallen from a cliff. No identification or other documents were found with the body.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports snowshoers contacted authorities Sunday morning. Rescuers removed the body near the remote trail frequented by backcountry users.

An autopsy was to be performed Sunday night at the state crime lab in Missoula.
