‘The Simpsons’ is one of the longest running shows on television, and while there aren’t enough episodes for them to officially launch their own network, they’re pretty close with 552 installments. And seeing that many fans can’t get enough of Springfield and its citizens, the new FXX network will kick off by running every single episode in consecutive order this summer.

The 12-day marathon will begin on Aug. 21 and will continue through Labor Day. The Fox-owned FXX, which owns the rerun rights to ‘The Simpsons,’ will also be releasing an app where you can download every episode. So you better clear off your schedule now.

This all leads to the show's next season, as FXX will run four hours of episodes every day until the new season begins. As Jon Landgraf, the chief executive of FX Networks, told Variety, “It will be the longest continuous marathon in the history of television.”

While ‘The Simpsons’ can’t last forever, it’s still on schedule to run at least a few more years, and it’s always good to know that they’re still around, helping us deal with the ridiculousness of the real world. As for the upcoming marathon, which is sure to be an incredible feast for ‘Simpsons’ fans, all we can say, in the words of Mr. Burns, is, “Ex-cel-lent!”
