LATEST EMAIL SCAM NOTICE Involving Montana Secretary of State’s Office

The email appears to customers as being sent from the Montana Secretary of State's Office, but in fact, is being sent from "keithbrian2014@gmail.com."

Please note that all Secretary of State Office employees have an email address featuring mt.gov. For example, our Business Services email address is sosbusiness@mt.gov.

The person/people behind this email have also replied to customer inquiries regarding the security certificate on the email. When asked, "keithbrian2014@gmail.com" confirms that he is a Secretary of State employee and that the email link is safe to open. He is not one of our employees, and opening the link may compromise your personal/business identity and data security.

This email is a scam. Please do not open any links or attachments that may accompany it. Please do not reply to the email in any way. You are encouraged to delete the email immediately and report it to Montana Secretary of State's Office for investigative purposes.
