I know I’m getting a bit ahead of myself, but could Bozeman be a possible host of the 2026 Winter Olympics? That gives us only 12 years to make it happen if it’s true. I can’t believe 2026 is only 12 years away!

The 2014 Winter Olympics begins tomorrow in Sochi, Russia and many critics are upset over stray dogs, deportation of construction workers, embezzlement of Olympic funds allegations, possible environmental damage, and the official Olympic hub is incomplete. Snowboarders are even a bit scared of the Slopestyle Course that was built for the inaugural year of the event. Reporters have also taken to social media to express their dire situations staying in Russian hotels. Maybe a move to good old Bozeman would be great for the games!

According to USA Today, Bozeman expressed interest back in 2012 of hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics. How cool would that be? Could a medal from Bozeman’s own Heather McPhie in Freestyle Moguls this year give Bozeman a slight push in the right direction?  Let me know what you think in the comments below as we begin the ’2026 Bozeman Winter Olympics’ campaign!
