This week, January 27, White House Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz explained to ABC News reporter Jon Karl, that the White House prefers to describe the Taliban as an "armed insurgency" rather than a terrorist organization. In response, Montana congressman Ryan Zinke described the administration's new position as "delusional."

"They are absolutely delusional," Zinke said. "Remember 911? Remember it was Al Queada and Taliban? Remember that we fought in Afghanistan, and still fight today against the Taliban? Remember that Gitmo is filled with Taliban warriors? And yet this administration insists on trading and negotiating with terrorists."

Zinke cites this latest flap as further evidence  of a failed foreign policy that has stooped to the level of being worthy of a "Saturday Night Live skit."

"When France, our oldest ally gets hit, and we can't show up at a rally of support and yet send John Kerry late with James Taylor signing a song... I mean... That's our foreign policy?" Zinke said. "It's absolutely atrocious and its one reason why our enemies don't fear us, our allies don't trust us, and certainly, this administration must, should, and better do a lot better."

Congressman Zinke has been in Helena this week speaking with Montana State legislators during the 2015 Legislature.
