Benjamin Barnes Named As Person Of Interest In National Park Ranger Shooting

Mt. Rainier Park Ranger Margaret Anderson performed a stop on a car in the park and was then shot by the driver. Anderson later died from the wound and the suspect escaped on foot.

Authorities found armor and ammunition in the car of the suspect. the named person of interest, Benjamin Barnes, is a US Military Veteran and is extremely dangerous and is knowledgeable of weapons and surviving in the wilderness. Barnes is also linked to a shooting at a house part on New Years Day.

34 year old Margaret and her husband both worked in the Mt. Rainier National Park. Margaret has two young daughters, 2 and 4 years old.

A body which is believed to be Benjamin Barnes was found dead in chest deep snow this morning in Mt. Rainier National Park.
