Our friend Michael Foth had a cool story about how Wine Spectator highlighted 17 different restaurants in Montana. But after checking out the list, I gotta say- Wine Spectactor missed a big one that I got to experience firsthand last month.

We were in Kalispell for a statewide tour featuring retired Border Patrol Chief Chris Clem. While in town, we thought- why not do some other great events in the Flathead? Angela Zuba reached out to see if we would want to do an event at her Water's Edge Winery and Bistro in Kalispell, and boy are we glad she did. (She is in the photo above with me during our event)

I wish I had taken photos of the flight of wine and the charcuterie board that our crew got to sample from. Wine from grapes from all over the world- France, Argentina, Spain, Washington state and more.

Check out their wine list- if I remember right, they had around 40 different wines on their list that they make in house from grapes shipped in from all over the world. (Wine List: attachment-Wine Menu Current-3)

Here's their food menu as well. I really liked the prime rib sandwich. (Food menu: attachment-2024 Food Menu)

I shared the Wine Spectator list with Angela Zuba. She told me, "I read the article and they didn’t mention any places here (Kalispell) – what a miss!" She added, "Also noteworthy is that we are being featured on the show America’s Best Restaurants on August 26th! Folks can view the episode on our Facebook page after 5pm that day."

By the way- thanks to AFP Montana for putting on the event at the Water's Edge Winery and Bistro in Kalispell.

Here's the audio of our chat that aired on the radio a couple days after our event:
