Watch for Deere, Crazy Hi Line Combine Crash Near Hinsdale
"Watch for Deere! Looks like they decided to Combine everything together."
Those were just some of the jokes on the Montanica! Facebook page after a crazy combine crash on the Hi Line near Hinsdale, Montana. Thankfully no-one was hurt.
I first spotted the photo shared by Suzanne Schumacher-Billingsley through The Buzz in Glasgow. Suzanne updated her post by saying that "there was a flagger for the combines, which was ignored. Please slow down for all equipment with and without a flagger, police on the side of the road-whatever it is! lets have a safe day out there."
Here's some of the other comments that came in on the Montanica! Facebook page:
Lisa Palmer: Those combines are more expensive than the semi tractor and trailer hauling them!!
Craig Smith: Looks like they decided to Combine everything together
Marty Klinker: Watch for Deere crossing !!
Jim Thompson: Thought the Combine Crunch was at the Minot State Fair
One of the folks that commented on Suzanne's post said, "This almost happened last week on Hwy 2 in Glasgow/Nashua. I was behind a semi that passed big farm equipment."
As Suzanne also referenced this is a good reason why we continue to see the need for more investments for expanded infrastructure on Highway 2 here in Montana. I remember back in the day when you would see the "4 for 2" signs all along the Hi Line as folks were wanting to see Highway 2 turned into 4 lanes across the northern tier of the state. While that didn't happen, the state did start adding in more stretches of road that had passing lanes or expanded lanes for certain stretches of highway.
