Could This Big Bozeman Building Get Shut Down?
This move could cause a lot of problems for Bozeman area residents.
DOGE Cuts
It's been a wild ride.
One new part of Trump's new term as President is having Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) clean up or cut expenditures across multiple agencies.
DOGE has cut contracts, fired government employees, and shut down buildings that seem to be wasting taxpayers' dollars.
We've seen some of these cuts in Montana.
Most of Montana's cuts have affected Forest Service and the National Parks employees.
There have also been several grant cuts at multiple Montana colleges.
Many Montanans have wondered what could be next, and we might have that answer.

Potential Bozeman Buildings Closing
This move could be a problem for residents of Montana.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports that a few buildings are on the DOGE Sell-Off List.
Which ones?
The U.S. Geological Survey and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service were named to be sold, but one listing was surprising.
The one that caught our eye was the Federal Building/United States Postal Service building in downtown Bozeman.
DOGE is deciding whether these buildings should stay in the fold or remain on the sold-off list.
Losing the downtown post office location could be an issue for residents and the United States Postal Service.
Bozeman has two post office locations, but both are constantly busy with customers trying to send packages, get their passport photos, or other needs.
That's not including all the P.O. boxes folks use at that location for work or personal use.
Nothing is in stone, but losing a post office location could cause mail problems for many residents.
We will find out soon what the verdict is for this building.
