Montana and Wyoming had another day of dangerous weather on Tuesday. Alerts and Advisories. High winds, lightning, and hail have damaged areas in both states over the last several day.

Storm chasers had a literal field day across the northern Rockies, with strong weather cells developing all over the region. Day after day, the conditions have been right for damaging winds and very large hail.

Several DOW trucks were spotted across eastern and central Montana in the last several days, indicating that our storms were worthy of weather research.

If you find yourself on the road during a big hail storm, pull over to a safe location - preferably a sturdy covered area such as a gas station overhang. Stay in your vehicle if you can't be inside. Protect your head, face, and body from possible shattered glass.

"Doppler on Wheels (DOW) is a fleet of quickly deployable truck-mounted weather radars managed by FARM (Flexible Array of Radars and Mesonets), an American research company affiliated with the University of Alabama Huntsville." (wikipedia)
