Strong Heat Advisory to Strangle Parts of Montana This Week
Western Montana will be challenged by extremely high temperatures starting on Tuesday, with the risk of heat exhaustion becoming a real concern throughout the week. Temperatures near 100 degrees will be common, and conditions will be very uncomfortable.
For instance, Kalispell has a weather forecast that includes: Tuesday's high of 96, Wednesday's high of 97, and another solid week after that remaining in the 90s. It's the sustained heat that is dangerous.

- WHERE...Kootenai/Cabinet Region and Lower Clark Fork Region.
- WHEN...From 1 PM Tuesday until midnight Saturday, July 13.
- IMPACTS...This level of heat affects anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration.
- Impacts likely in some health systems, heat-sensitive industries and infrastructure.
- Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
- Take extra precautions when outside.
- Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.
- Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
- Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Areas in danger also include the Missoula area and regions south of town. Missoula's forecast includes: Monday's high of 95, Tuesday's high of 99, Wednesday's high of 101, Thursday's high of 96, Friday's high of 97, etc..
