Montana Town Set To Host An Unforgettable Songwriter Festival
If you are a big fan of music and especially locally Montana-made music, you’re not going to want to miss the event happening in Livingston this week. The Livingston Songwriter Festival is back October 2–4, and let’s just say it’s bringing more talent, stories, and creativity than your Spotify playlist ever could.
Now in its thirteenth year, the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Festivals (the nonprofit behind this event) has made quite the mark since launching in 2016. They’ve produced festivals in Red Lodge and Livingston, hosted hundreds of songwriters, entertained thousands of fans, and raised over $120,000 for music education across Montana and Wyoming.
Translation: when you grab a ticket, you’re not just supporting music, you’re literally helping keep the next generation of musicians tuned up and ready to play.
This year’s Livingston Songwriter Festival promises three days of pure magic. Picture it: hit Nashville songwriters and Montana’s rising stars trading songs, swapping stories, and turning downtown Livingston’s restaurants, theaters, coffee shops, and bars into stages.
And the lineup? Absolutely stacked. Things kick off Thursday with a Songwriting Masterclass hosted by Susan Gibson & Jackson Emmer, followed by Rising Stars at The Attic. Friday brings free interviews with the songwriters at True North Cafe and Perk on Park, giving fans a behind-the-scenes peek into the minds behind the music. Then, of course, the evenings are packed with performances all over town.
You can see the full schedule of events HERE.

So whether you’re a songwriter yourself, a die-hard music lover, or just someone who wants a good excuse to hang out in Livingston for a weekend, this is your sign.
