7 Amazing National Parks To Visit Just Outside Of Montana
For millions of people, the allure of both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks is enough to bring them to visit Montana. While those two, get the most love, they're not the only National Parks you'll find inside of The Treasure State.

But what about outside of the state?
Montana is close to some amazing places, including a few National Parks just outside the state that are not only beautiful but road trip worthy.
If your idea of family fun is loading up in the family SUV and heading out on the open road, you'll want to add these destinations to your list. Plus, they're all relatively close to Montana, so they're also budget-friendly as well.
National Parks Just Outside of Montana Worth Checking Out
While a couple of these spots will require a passport, the good news is that you can pick up some Ketchup Chips while you're visiting our neighbors to the north.
Most folks know that just across the border from Glacier is Waterton. While Waterton is simply stunning, it's not the only Canadian National Park that's close by.
Banff has long been a favorite among those in the know and with social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, the Park has exploded in popularity. If you're planning a trip to Banff, here's a pro trip, make reservations for things like Lake Louise, Lake Moraine, and the gondola to Sulpher Mountain.
If you're in Banff, you might as well check out some of the other sites close by such as Jasper National Park as well as the Columbian Ice Fields and Yoho National Park in British Columbia.
Back here in the States, our neighbors over in North Dakota have Theodore Roosevelt National Park which is popular during the summer months, especially around Medora North Dakota which puts on quite the show for tourists and locals alike.
In South Dakota, a trip to Mount Rushmore is something everyone should do at least once. Not only are the "Four Presidents" impressive, as is the Avenue of Flags representing each of the 50 states.
Down in Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park is always popular. With spectacular views and right next to Jackson Hole, there is plenty to do and see for those who not only love nature but are looking for family-friendly activities as well.
