Montana Celebrates Great Bar-B-Q. Check Out These Popular Spots
It's one of my favorite days of the year.
It's National Bar-B-Q Day! While we are known more for our high-quality cuts of beef here in Montana, don't let that fool you. Montana has some top-notch Bar-B-Q spots that are certainly worth checking out.
It should be noted that while I'm not a professional, I've eaten a lot of BBQ over the years. First, I was born and raised just outside of the Bar-B-Q Capitol of the World, Kansas City, Missouri. It's true, Kansas City isn't only know for world-class Football, they're also home to some of the best BBQ spots around.
My travels have also taken me through the South, where I've dined on different styles of Bar-B-Q, including Carolina, Georgia, and Memphis Style. Then there was that time I spent in Texas. Well, you know how those Texans are, they think everything they do down there is better than anywhere else, and yes, that includes Bar-B-Q.
But back to Big Sky Country Bar-B-Q.
There are several places around the Treasure State to celebrate this glorious day. There is the highly rated Notorious P.I.G. in Missoula, Firehole Bar-B-Q in West Yellowstone, and Bar 3 Bar-B-Q in Belgrade. Of course, Bourbon Bar-B-Q in Bozeman is a popular choice, as well as some of the food truck BBQ spots you'll find around Montana.
I'm a big fan of Willow Creek Super Club and their Carolina Gold Ribs, as well as Follow Yer Nose down in Emigrant, which might be the best ribs I've ever tasted. Oh, and then there is Yellowhouse House Bar-B-Q here in Bozeman, which is top-notch, even for Texas style :)

Whatever your favorite style, or your favorite type, enjoy today, National Bar-B-Q Day only happens once a year.
