For years, Montana has been the kind of place where folks live their lives.

It was one of the things that made Montana the Last Best Place. Montanans aren't big on being told what they do; however, it seems that as the political climate has changed across the United States, so it has here in Big Sky Country.

While most of Montana is considered a "Red" state, there are cities that lean a little more liberal in their views.

I bring this up because over the last couple of months, there has been a lot of talk about the LGBTQ community in Montana. We've watched as folks have debated over flags and which ones you can fly on government property, to a couple of cities have adopted the "Pride" flag as the official flag of their city.

Now, there is concern that the Supreme Court could overturn same-sex marriage.

Keep in mind, for some folks this isn't a big deal, but for others it is, and it's important. Here is the issue of living in America: that whole freedom of speech thing applies to everyone. So for everyone who is for something, they can cheer it on. For those who are against it, they can voice their view as well.

I don't care who marries whom.

It's a big world, and if something or someone makes you happy, so be it. I have no desire to tell anyone what they should think or how they should live their lives. Having said that, I expect the same.

What is the most accepting town in Montana?

However, if you are looking for the most accepting town in Montana, according to the folks over at Thrillist, you might want to move to Missoula. Missoula was voted the most friendly LGBTQ city in Montana. Listen, this isn't a shocker. Missoula has long been known for its more liberal views, so the fact that it would make this list seems pretty on brand.

Now, Missoula isn't the only town in Montana where they're accepting. Bozeman also ranks high on the list, as does Helena. Oh, and for those of you who are a little more inclusive, there are plenty of towns here that are better suited for those beliefs as well.
