One Of The Most Iconic Restaurants In Montana Says Goodbye
One of the hardest things to say is goodbye.
Whether it's a friend, family member, or a beloved business, it's never easy to lose someone or something that means a lot to you. Nostalgia is a strange thing. I often think back to places of my youth that are no longer around, and wonder if I'm making them bigger in my memory than they were.
I bring this up because one of the most iconic restaurants in Montana has recently closed its doors and will undoubtedly leave a void in many people's lives.
Before we reveal which restaurant has said goodbye, let's check out some of the best old-school places to eat in Montana.

Iconic Montana restaurant closes its doors
Montana is known for some iconic places to dine, and one of the most popular over the years has been 4B's. The once family-owned Montana restaurant chain had several locations across the state and was known for its home cooking and famous tomato soup.
The Missoula location said goodbye after being in business for decades, and folks are still processing what that means for the community.
4B's has been around in Montana since 1947, and for those who don't know the story, came up with its name by using the first letters of the members of the family. There was Bill, his wife Barbara, his son Bill, and his daughter Barbara...so, the 4 B's.
The family sold the business back in 2007, and with the closure of the Missoula restaurant, another piece of Montana history goes away.
4B's was known for its comfort food, and in some way, even if we hadn't been there in a while, we took comfort in knowing that 4B's was still a part of our lives. I've eaten at the 4B's Missoula location multiple times, and even though I live a couple of hundred miles away, I feel like we're having a funeral for a friend.
