Additional Information

The Watershed Festival & Fishing Derby is an annual event dedicated to promoting an awareness of, and responsible stewardship towards, the diverse natural resources found within our watersheds.

There will be a wide variety of local organizations providing exhibits and activities, a fishing derby led by the Fish Technology staff (kids get to keep 2 of the rainbow trout they catch!) music, food, face painting and a rubber duck derby with plenty of great prizes!

Through this event, we seek to raise awareness of our watersheds; to support local, national and international organizations that share in this mission, foster a greater understanding and appreciation of local environment systems and interest children in taking up fishing as a lifelong hobby by providing them with an opportunity to catch and keep two rainbow trout, casting lessons, and fly tying demonstrations.

This event is co-hosted by Montana Outdoor Science School and United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
