We are coming up on the busy summer tourist season here in our region.

Yellowstone National Park is a major reason why there are so many people traveling through our area between May and September.

Some eye-popping numbers that reveal the amount of money brought in by Yellowstone tourism in 2017 were recently released. Let's just say it caught our attention.

The National Park Service is reporting that YNP created over $629 MILLION in economic benefits for the local economy. This number includes money spent inside of the park and in communities around the park. Yellowstone estimates at almost $500 million of the total amount was spent in surrounding areas, which includes Bozeman.

If you want to read more about the report check out the press release.
