Ravalli County Sheriff’s Deputies and paramedics from Marcus Daly General Hospital were called out to a residence in Victor on Friday afternoon for a man possibly having a medical issue who had attacked two family members.

Sheriff Steve Holton said the initial call came in to 9-1-1 at about 12:30 pm.

“The family had tried to escort an adult male out of the residence,” Holton began. “He began making threats and was acting erratically. He then took a snow shovel and broke a window trying to get back inside and during the fight that ensued he stabbed both the adults with window glass and some sheep shears. Despite their injuries, the family members were able to control the suspect until sheriff’s deputies arrived.”

Holton said all involved were transported to Marcus Daly Hospital, including the suspect, who was still receiving treatment as of about 8:30 p.m. Friday.

He said his office is withholding the names of the suspect and the victims until charges can be filed, and as of Saturday afternoon, the suspect had not yet been released from the hospital so that he could be incarcerated in the Ravalli County Jail.
