A statewide business has partnered with the Montana Department of Justice. Town Pump has joined the Department of Justice in helping raise awareness of human trafficking in the state.

“We are excited to announce that Town Pump has signed on as our first corporate partner in making their stores available to us to help outreach to the traveling public about human trafficking,” said Department spokeswoman Anastasia Burton.

Starting this month, all Town Pump convenience stores and casinos will be carrying laminated anti-human trafficking posters that were made by the Department of Justice.

If other businesses want to join the fight and get involved, Burton said all they have to do is follow of couple steps.

“Go online to our website which is at and they can download and print the posters for free,” Burton said. “The text is in English and Spanish and it also features a toll free hotline number that is run by the Polaris Project.”

Other posters have been hung by the Montana Department of Transportation at rest stops along highways statewide, city park rest areas, and nearly 2,000 posters were distributed at the Montana Board of Crime Control’s Conference last fall.

The human trafficking posters are a result of a bill that was passed during the last session of the Montana legislature.
