The Knights of Columbus state convention is scheduled to take place April 23-25 in Bozeman. The 111th annual event is expected to draw more than 200 Knights and their families from 51 councils around the state and is slated to take place at the Holiday Inn of Bozeman. The convention is co-hosted by Knights Council 1413 of Bozeman and Headwaters Council 10432 of Belgrade.

“Bozeman gives us a nice opportunity because of the size of the community,” Knights of
Columbus State Deputy Steve Zachmann said. “The community itself is just a good venue for conventions.”

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization with more than 1.85 million members representing 14,000 councils in 17 countries. The gathering is a time for Montana’s members to learn about international, national and state initiatives and to recognize individual councils and members who exemplify charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism, the principles of the Order.

It is also a time for Knights to exercise the very first of these principles – charity.
One opening order of business is the presentation of funds raised by Montana Knights to various local charities including Special Olympics of Montana (SOMT), Montana Hope Project,  Poor Clares of Montana and the Montana Catholic Conference. The presentation is scheduled for the morning of Friday, April 24.
