Upon the conclusion of the NFL lockout Monday, Indianapolis center Jeff Saturday took to the podium to praise New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Kraft’s late wife, Myra. Myra, who had cancer, passed away during the lockout.  Yet, despite his wife of 48 years’ grave condition, Robert kept a seat at the negotiating table, and was instrumental in saving the 2011 NFL season.

NFL players and owners have reportedly agreed on all major points in a new collective bargaining agreement, putting an end to the four-month-old lockout. A union executive committee vote and press conference are expected on Monday. Insiders anticipate the deal will be in place by Wednesday to ensure the start of training camps and an interrupted full schedule of preseason and regular-season games.

The Chicago Bears dumped the Seattle Seahawks 35-24 this afternoon in Chicago for the right to host the NFC Championship game next Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. In the AFC, the New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots 28-21, and will face the Steelers next Sunday in Pittsburgh.
