On Friday, Senator John Walsh joined the Senate Defending Social Security Caucus to stand up for Montana’s seniors and fight attempts to privatize Social Security or reduce the benefits that hard-working people earned.  Nearly one in five Montanans receive Social Security benefits, including over 100,000 senior citizens.

“We need Social Security to be strong so when people retire, the benefits they earned are there for them,” Walsh said.  “I will always stand up for Montana’s seniors and I’m proud to join the Defending Social Security Caucus.”

Walsh hosted a series of senior roundtables last month in Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Great Falls, Missoula, and Pablo to discuss the importance of protecting Social Security.  In conjunction with Older Americans Month, Walsh recognizes the unique challenges Montana’s seniors face when retiring on a fixed income.

Have a question for Senator Walsh about Social Security or any other topic for that matter?

I will be speaking with Senator Walsh Tuesday, for a conversation that will air Wednesday morning.
