Rory McIlroy shot a 6-under par 66 in the final round to win the PGA Championship at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, SC on Sunday. McIlroy’s dominant performance allowed him to cruise to the win by eight strokes, breaking the PGA Championship margin of victory record set by Jack Nicklaus in 1980.

After a storm delayed the completion of his third round on Saturday, McIlroy recorded back-to-back birdies on Sunday morning to maintain a three-shot lead heading into the final 18 holes. No golfer closed within two shots of him on Sunday, as he finished with a 275 over four rounds. With this victory and his 2011 US Open win, McIlroy, 23, became the youngest golfer since Seve Ballesteros to win two majors.

England’s David Lynn shot 283 to finish second, and Justin Rose, Keegan Bradley and Ian Poulter tied for third at 284. After contending for half of the tournament, Tiger Woods finished tied for 11th place in the PGA Tour’s final major of 2012.
