Comedy Central and the comedy news personalities Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert held a rally on the National Mall this Saturday and thousands attended. The rally conveyed a clever mix of entertainment hard hitting topics. There were musical performance from Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), The Roots, Ozzy Osborn and many more. The show carried as much humor and entertainment as any episode of The Daily Show or The Colbert Report generally does but it also brought with it a message. Through all the witty banter and off the wall skits, Jon and Stephen clearly stated their messae -- for the entire Nation to stand up to the hate that fear has created for us all. Here is a brief snippet of Jon Stewarts speech.

There are terrorists and racists and Stalinists and theocrats, but those are titles that must be earned. You must have the resume. Not being able to distinguish between real racists and tea partiers, or real bigots and Juan Williams or Rick Sanchez is an insult, not only to those people, but to the racists themselves, who have put in the exhausting effort it takes to hate, just as the inability to distinguish terrorists from Muslims makes us less safe, not more.
