He was working as a fellow in the office of then Congressman Dick Cheney when the Yellowstone Fires of 1988 broke out. His first day back on the job as a Montana television reporter- Jay Kohn was dispatched to the front lines of the fire.

From the fires of '88, to the mountain man trials, and governors from Judge to Bullock- Jay Kohn has been there throughout his 40-plus year career as a Montana broadcaster.

Jay Kohn recently retired from the nightly anchor desk at Q2 News (KTVQ-TV) in Billings. He joined Aaron Flint on Wednesday's Montana Talks statewide radio show to talk about some of the biggest stories he covered during his career.
