Montana Congressman Greg Gianforte has just announced a new award. It will be called the Montana Congressional Veteran Commendation.

“Montanans have a long history of serving our great state and country in uniform. That’s why I’ve started a program to recognize Montanans who have served our country proudly, returned to Montana, and served in our communities,” Gianforte said.

Gianforte is now asking for people to nominate for veterans for the Montana Congressional Veteran Commendation. The tribute is to recognize outstanding Montana veterans who have honorably served. They should have served in both our nation and our communities.

“I’m looking for your help to identify these men and women,” Gianforte said, “because we all owe them a great tribute of honor for their service to country and community.”

Nominations will come from you. If you want to be considered or want someone else to be nominated, this is what you need to do to be considered:

1. The nominee must live in Montana.

2. They must also have served honorably in uniform and in their local communities.

Meet those needs and you are qualified for this award.

Veterans Day, November 11, 2017 is the deadline to nominate someone. Those selected will be honored later in November.
