A new report exposing numerous connections between anti-government extremist groups and the Western state lawmakers who support turning America’s national lands over to state and private control.

From just last week’s arrival of camouflaged 'constitutional advocates' in Lincoln, MT to the armed standoff at Cliven Bundy’s Nevada ranch, reveal an emboldened coalition of county supremacists, armed militias, and radical conspiracy theorists who actively and openly promote an anti-government ideology.

The report links the activities of 13 lawmakers in nine Western states, including Montana Sen. Jennifer Fielder and Rep. Kerry White, who supported five public land takeover bills in the most recent legislative session. Fielder is a member of the Sanders Natural Resource Council (SNRC), which is run by members of the Militia of Montana. SNRC founder John Trochmann is known to have “white supremacist leanings,” according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. The report details the confluence of Fielder and White’s policy agenda and the ideology of other extremist groups like the Oath Keepers, Council of Conservative Citizens, and Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association.

Suspected supporters like Ivory and Fielder, radical demands to hand over federal lands to state and private control have started to resonate in Washington, DC. In its report, Center for Western Priorities shows how the land giveaway agenda has surfaced in the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House, and even Ivory’s face-to-face meetings with Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
