What appears to be an unidentified object in the Missoula, Montana night sky falling to the ground was captured on a dashboard video camera at about 2:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17.

It appears to be some sort of bright object falling diagonally to the ground between Mount Sentinel and Mount Jumbo in Missoula, near Interstate 90. The video, only seven seconds in length, definitely shows something falling rapidly to the ground on the left hand side of the screen.

One individual who witnessed the incident, said the object looked like a meteor or small asteroid falling to the ground, with a bright tail visible, although there seemed to be no explosion or fire resulting from the incident.

A call to the National Weather Service office in Missoula turned up no official information about the sighting.

If anyone else may have spotted the object that fell early Friday morning, please add a response to the KGVO Facebook page.
